Set up SuperCapture on your Mac.

Start with the desktop app, make your first capture, and add browser extensions when you need them. Local capture, editing and search work without an account.

Check your Mac

The current installer requires macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later and Apple Silicon (M1 or later). It does not support Intel Macs. Open Apple menu → About This Mac to check your chip and macOS version.

The Mac app is available now. The SuperCapture web app shares what you capture and manages your account. iPhone and Android apps have not been released.

Download and install

Download the latest Mac installer. The download is a .pkg installer hosted in our public GitHub releases.
Open the downloaded package and follow the macOS installer’s instructions.
Open SuperCapture from Applications. Allow screen recording when macOS asks so the app can capture your screen. Microphone access is needed when you record your voice.
Make a small screenshot or short recording, then open it in the gallery to check the result.

If you previously denied a permission, find SuperCapture under System Settings → Privacy & Security and enable the relevant access. Follow any macOS prompt to reopen the app. Setting names vary by macOS version.

Add your browser extension

Open the browser extensions page after installing the Mac app. Chrome and Brave use the Chrome Web Store extension; Firefox uses Mozilla Add-ons. Safari support is included with the Mac app and must be enabled in Safari’s extension settings. Edge is coming later.

For a long page, use Full Page (Auto-Scroll). For an ordinary screenshot, start with an area or window capture in the desktop app.

Choose whether to use the cloud

You can capture, edit, organize and search locally without creating an account. If you want cloud sync or sharing, sign in under Settings → Cloud Account in the Mac app. Your account is also where you can manage a paid plan.

The free plan includes light branding on video exports and on images you have marked up; an unedited screenshot exports clean. Individual and Pro subscriptions remove branding, sync your whole library and give you unbranded share pages; Pro adds comments on share pages, shared folders and optional end-to-end encryption for capture files. For a reproducible bug or feature request, open an issue in our public tracker. Include the app version, macOS version, and the steps you took. The tracker is public, so remove personal data from screenshots and logs before posting.
